Compass Women's Ministry

Women In the Word

The Winter/Spring session of Women In the Word Bible Studies will begin on Thursday, January 31.  This year we will be meeting in the church’s beautiful new Great Room.  Childcare will be provided during the morning session only.

The morning session will meet from 9:30-11:00 am, and will offer only one study.  We will be studying the book of Psalms: Songs Along the Way, by Kathleen Buswell Nielson as our guide.

The evening session will meet from 6:30-8:00 pm, and will be working through God of Covenant: A Study of Genesis 12-50, by Jen Wilkin.

Watch for more information in the coming weeks.  All women are welcome to attend!  Our name has changed, but our purpose is the same – to fellowship, encourage one another, and be IN God’s Word together.

In addition to Bible study and discipleship groups, Compass Church has two groups which function both as missions, outreach, and fellowship:

Piecemakers meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:00am. They make crafts which they sell, the proceeds of which go to fund TouchGlobal Ministries. They also make dresses for orphans in the Congo and layette sets for use at Tandala Hospital.

Threaded Hearts

The Threaded Hearts Quilters (click on title for link to Threaded Hearts web page) meet each Tuesday during the school year, from 11:30am to 3:00pm. They begin with prayer followed by a potluck luncheon, quilting instruction, and then piecing quilt tops. They focus on intergenerational fellowship while they make love quilts for those in the Compass Church body who are struggling with hardship, illness, the death of a loved one, or perhaps to honor someone who has long served at Compass Church.

All groups enjoy great fellowship and learn new skills. All groups are open to women in the community.

If you would like to sample any of these opportunities and want more information, please contact the church office (445-7206).
