Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.   Deuteronomy 6:5-7

Compass EFC loves kids… and their families!  Compass Kids, the children’s ministry of Compass EFC, believes that God created the family (not the Children’s Ministry) to be the primary environment where discipleship and spiritual transformation take place.

Knowing this, here is our Purpose Statement…

The purpose of COMPASS KIDS is to partner with parents as they assume the role as the primary disciplers of their children; Providing gospel-centered, Bible-saturated ministry to children that points them to the life-saving message of Jesus Christ.

  • Compass Kids will provide an environment where children feel loved, safe, and secure.
  • Compass Kids will make having fun a priority and be a place where laughter is encouraged.
  • Compass Kids will be a place where the gospel is proclaimed with clarity and urgency.
  • Compass Kids will commit to God’s Word as our guide and standard.
  • Compass Kids will be a place where volunteers serve with joy, with excellence, and without grumbling & complaining.
  • Compass Kids will be a place where family discipleship & family worship are modeled and encouraged.

Compass Kids has lots of exciting areas of ministry for your children to participate in.  Take a look at these areas of ministry as well as a list of Compass Kids’ Recommended Family Discipleship Resources.

AWANA – Registration for 2019-2020 school year opening August 26!

The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of the phrase “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” from 2 Timothy 2:15. AWANA is a fun and exciting gospel-centered ministry that focuses on scripture memorization, games, and large-group Bible teaching. Registration for our 2018-19 AWANA program is open NOW. AWANA runs September-April, 6:30pm-8:00pm. Three age-appropriate AWANA Clubs happen during that time- 1) CUBBIES for ages 3-5, 2) SPARKS for grades K-2nd, and 3) TRUTH ‘N TRAINING for grades 3rd-5th. Come back August 26 to register for the 2019-2020 year, which will start on September 25.

The Gospel Project for Kids Sunday School

Sunday School happens every Sunday morning at Compass. We begin with worship and singing at 9:15am, followed by age appropriate classes (for kids Kindergarten through 5th grade) from 9:30am-10:30am. Compass Kids is very excited to be using The Gospel Project for Kids in our Sunday School ministry. The Gospel Project for Kids is a dynamic resource that shows how Christ fits into the entire gospel story, pre-creation to eternity. And where each of us fits in, too. This Christ-centered curriculum follows a chronological timeline of Bible events—presenting the story of redemption through Jesus to kids in fresh and engaging ways. Each week, these stories come to life through video, music, activities, and more. | Read More

We offer two classes for our preschool children during the 9:15am Sunday School Hour as well as during the 10:45am Worship Service- 1) TODDLERS for ages 2 & 3 and 2) PRESCHOOL for ages 4 & 5. These classes are designed to use playtime, singing, Bible lessons, and interactive activities to teach the truth of God’s Word as well as basic classroom behavior skills. The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum is used in our preschool classes.

Children’s Church

Because we place such a high priority on family discipleship, we love to see families worshipping together and kids are always welcome in our worship services. We do however, offer a children’s church program (for children grades K-5th) for families that wish to use it. Children’s Church is offered the first three Sundays of each month (except August & December) and happens in Room 42 during the 10:45am worship service (Sundays when Children’s Church is not offered are considered “Family Sundays.”) During this time, we use games, prayer, songs, and storytelling to communicate the truth of God’s Word.

Nursery Ministry

Our nursery ministry is designed so that families with young children may worship or serve with the understanding that their child is loved and well cared for. There are two areas of our nursery- 1) NEWBORNS & CRAWLERS, and 2) TODDLERS & WALKERS. The nursery is available during the 9:15am Sunday School Hour as well as the 10:45am Worship Service.
