This Compass EFC sponsored SERVE Team mission trip will be providing medical care, dental care, optical care, pharmaceuticals, evangelism and concrete floors. Here at Compass EFC, we express this love and allegiance in a variety of ways, including prayer, being still before our God, instrumental music, voices raised in joyful celebration and honor, corporate scripture reading, and expository teaching from the pulpit.
At one time or another, we use almost every instrument, depending on the gifts of those in our church body. We celebrate God with the sounds of drums, organ, trumpet, oboe, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, hammer dulcimer, mandolin, bass guitar, flute, handbells, violin….
Our current study of 1 Corinthians in the New Testament reveals many issues that are surprisingly similar to the issues we face today: sin, pride, disunity and confusion about our identity in Christ. Paul warns the Corinthians with words of exhortation, but also words of great encouragement. We need to hear these words today as we find the life that God wants us to live in and enjoy.
